Finally Cooking for You: A Napoli Dinner Party

You know that feeling when you’ve been planning something for so long that it feels almost surreal when it’s finally happening? That’s exactly where I am right now.

After three years—yes, three years—I’m stepping back into the kitchen at Solo Pasta with Chef J-Ping Wang, and honestly, I can barely contain my excitement. No more just showing you photos on Instagram and hoping you can taste them through the screen. This time, you’re actually here, at my table, eating the food I’ve prepared.

This Year Feels Different

What makes this gathering even more special? My brother Paolo is joining us from Taiwan after five years away. If you know anything about cooking with family, you know the kitchen is about to get beautifully chaotic—the kind of controlled chaos that only happens when people who love food and love each other come together to create something memorable.

I have a feeling this won’t be your ordinary dinner party. The menu will be generous, the wine will flow, and the energy in that kitchen will be, well, let’s just say very lively.

What’s on the Menu?

I’m keeping some surprises up my sleeve—partly because it’s more fun that way, and partly because I want you to experience each dish as it arrives at your table. But I will say this: expect the kind of food that comes from a place of genuine care and years of cooking in Italy. Think traditional preparations, quality ingredients, and flavors that make you pause mid-conversation just to appreciate what you’re eating.

Join Us

I’m inviting new friends and old friends alike to gather around the table with me on March 5th and 6th, 2023 at Solo Pasta. This is a celebration—of food, of community, of the beautiful intersection between Taiwanese heritage and Italian passion.

This is a casual, celebratory party-style dinner where we’ll share large dishes family-style. Chef J-Ping Wang has carefully selected wines to pair with each course, so please don’t bring your own.

I translate flavors, habits, and identities between two worlds that rarely meet—but deeply resonate when they do. This space is where those worlds collide. And occasionally, where they argue.
